Abstract: Malaria is a disease caused by parasitice protozoa belonging of the genus Plasmodium through the mediation of prick (bite) of Anopheles. Indonesia is one of the countries that has a high endemicity. There are four types of plasmodium that can cause malaria, which are plasmodium falciparum, plasmodium vivax, plasmodium oval and plasmodium malariae. One of the common ways to detect malaria parasites is to use microscopic image. Detection using microscopic imaging has made a significant contribution in the diagnosis of malaria infection by blood imagery. This study proposes a color image segmentation of the malaria parasite, In order to accelerate the diagnostic process and to achieves high detection accuracy malaria.
