Abstract: This research was aimed to obtain empirical evidence of the effectiveness of Think, Talk, Write strategy students' ability in writing text. The method of this research was a quantitative method. The design in this study was experimental design. This research was conducted at the SMA Swasta Imelda Medan. The number of sample in this research was 64 students of the eleventh grade students at SMA Swasta Imelda Medan. The sample was divided into two classes, namely class IPA-I and IPA-II. Instrument of this research was a test. The test was divided into two, namely pre-test and post-test. The data obtained from the test were analyzed by using the SPSS 25 version. Based on the hypothesis testing criteria that if sig. 2 tailed (p) was lower than alpha (α) 0.05 then Ho (Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. In this study, the results of sig. 2 tailed was 0.009. It proved that p ≤ α. Based on the analysis obtained, the students writing scores experienced an increase in doing the test. The average scores on the first test was 56.71, after doing the second test the average scores increased with a scores of 71.56. This showed that the method of using Think, Talk, Write strategy was effective in learning student’s writing ability.
